Joke’s Up, Joba

I’m not to advocate violence, but I’ve about had it with Joba Chamberlain. Not only that, but I’ve about had it with the Red Sox letting him get away with it. The kid had impeccable control last night, yet somehow loses his grip to stick one right between Jason Bay’s shoulder blades? Horse feathers (hey, how many times can I remind you this is a family website?)! I want a bench-clearer. Or, at the very least, I want Josh Beckett’s fastball to introduce itself to the ribs of Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira and that kid I never heard of who was playing third in A-Fraud’s absence. You think maybe then that Chamberlain might get the point? Or his teammates get the point for him?
Listen, I’m all for throwing inside and occasionally moving a guy off the plate, but Chamberlain’s antics don’t qualify. He’s buzzed Youk’s head like Maverick buzzed the control tower in “Top Gun,” now he’s plucking the nicest guy in baseball? Hey, I realize this doughboy has a lot going through his mind right now, but the Sox should let him know enough is enough.
