Ortiz ‘feeling a lot better at the plate’

He said it. And if you inexplicably missed the series with the Yankees, then your eyes wouldn’t have seen it. But a 2-for-3 night against CC Sabathia doesn’t look too shabby on the stat sheet.
David Ortiz doubled his home run total for the season during the Yankees series, touting four big flies now. He hit his fourth to left — something nearly unthinkable two weeks ago.
“When I hit the ball (opposite field) like that, it’s giving a sign that I’m waiting for the ball,” Ortiz said. “I’ve been feeling a lot better at the plate.”
It’d be premature to say that he’s back to form, but he’s a few steps closer to getting there.
P.S. Sorry to be giving you little the past couple of days. Typically, my most creative hours come at night. …When I should be sleeping for my early morning shift. Can’t fight nature, holmes.
