Another Step In The Right Direction

Old friend @MikeGiardi had the privilege of sitting down with Mark Herzlich, who made his return to the Boston College practice field on Thursday after battling Ewing’s sarcoma. Here is the segment from CSSNE’s SportsNet Central:

It’s good to see Herzlich making cuts on the practice field again. While he accomplished great work during the 2009 season, collecting checks from various opponents and organizations to fund the fight against cancer, he was not meant to be restricted to holding checks for photo opportunities. Herzlich is back where he belongs — where he wants to be. He is back on the football field. And perhaps his return will drive more donations to the cause of ending this horrible disease.

Here’s wishing him a successful remission and playing career — one which proves the 2008 ACC Defensive Player of the Year is stronger for what he went through in 2009.
