Matthew Stafford, QB Georgia

Matt Stafford: 6′2 ¼, 225 lbs

2008
153.54 QB rating
3,459 yards
25 TD

Career
7,731 yards
51 TD

Matthew Stafford = inconsistent. He can start a game ice cold, but return for the second half throwing straight fire.

While he racked up some pretty impressive stats as a Junior, he also had some baffling moments for the leader of a team ranked No. 1 at the start of the season. Stafford turned in some lackluster performances, and has drawn the criticism of at least one NFL coach.

The true question is not whether Stafford can make all the “NFL” passes, but whether he has the maturity to know when to make each of those passes.

Personally, I am not sold on Stafford as a franchise quarterback. But the Detroit Lions, possessors of the No. 1 overall pick, seemed to enjoy his personal workout with the team.
