Mark Sanchez, QB USC

There are two ways to look at Pete Carroll’s criticism of Mark Sanchez decision to leave USC early for the Draft:

1) Coach Carroll knows what he’s talking about.
2) Coach Carroll was a poor NFL head coach, so he can stick to recruiting All-Americans.

The second way is a bit harsh, right? Understandably, experience is the concern with Sanchez. Starting just one season at USC, he tossed 34 touchdown passes, while completing 66-percent of his throws. Albeit against a weak Pac-10.

Sanchez has pointed to Matt Cassel’s success when asked how inexperience will affect him as an NFL quarterback. It is important to note that no one athlete is like another, especially just because they attended the same university.

Sanchez reportedly struggled to make “NFL-style” throws at the Combine workout in Indianapolis. Neither of the “Top 2″ quarterbacks in this Draft really stick out as NFL prospects. But Sanchez has proved that he can sit behind another signal caller and step up to the plate when it is his time to shine.
