Jeremy Maclin, WR Missouri

Posted by Adam Hart April 4, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Jeremy Maclin: 6′1, 200 lbs.

2008
102 receptions
1,260 yards
13 TD

Career
182 receptions
2,315 yards
22 TD

An obvious beneficiary of the pass-happy spread offense, Maclin was a standout for Mizzou this season. He not only possesses speed, but the ability to go across the middle.

Maclin is slippery after the catch, able to break through tackles with an almost sixth sense for identifying potential tacklers.

He can also be a dynamic kick returner.

Due to his speed and elusiveness, I like Maclin better than Michael Crabtree, and put him just barely ahead of Mohamed Massaquoi.

Maclin impressed at Mizzou’s Pro Day.

The Oakland Raiders were scheduled to host Maclin on a visit. There has been some speculation that the Jaguars could leapfrog the RaidersCleveland also showed interest in Maclin, which may simply be a move to drive up the price for that No. 5 pick.

In the two Mizzou games I watched, Maclin did nothing. But, as is apparent in this YouTube video, he actually catches passes and does stuff. That “stuff” is accompanied by Yeezy.
