Evander “Ziggy” Hood, DT/DE Missouri

Posted by Adam Hart April 6, 2009 at 8:57 am

Ziggy Hood: 6′2 7/8, 300 lbs

Fighting the stigma that Mizzou’s defense was below average, Ziggy Hood still a has very good chance of becoming a big player. Not in the dating game, on the field.

Hood’s highly energetic style may be more suitable for an end position, especially in the 3-4 base defense.

While Hood was not as dominant as Peria Jerry or BJ Raji at the college level, he still brings a hard-nosed style to the game. He can put pressure on the quarterback or stay home against the running game.

Hood has come up as a clean prospect who graduated in 3.5 years. He has caught the eye of the Patriots, who have alloted on of their 30 pre-draft visits to Hood. Although, as Mike Reiss points out in that article, there are many reasons to host a player on such a visit.
