Garnett Temporarily Shut Down

Posted by Morry Levine March 31, 2009 at 12:24 pm

The Celtics hopes of repeating as NBA Champions took a big hit today.  Head Coach Doc Rivers says the team is shutting down Kevin Garnett until further notice.

KG has been battling an injured right knee that he suffered in a game February 19th against the Jazz.  He’s missed 14 games, including the last two games after coming back for the previous four games.

These are the answers to the Who Am I? post from March 29th.

1. Landon Donovan. Despite playing the entire game, Donovan failed to score for the U.S., which needed a late surge to escape with a 2-2 tie in El Salvador. In the first half, Donovan struck a free kick well over the crossbar from about 25 yards out.

2. Manny Fernandez, who gave up weak goal after weak goal in the Bruins 7-5 win in Toronto on Saturday night. His feeble attempts at poke checking pucks away or making Tim Thomas-esque saves were embarrassing, to say the least.

3. Ann Curry. Her Twitter profile image says it all. To see the pic, you may need to sign up on Twitter. In which case, I suggest following @adamhart.

4. Brian Ching. I just don’t understand the attraction here.

5. Boston Red Sox new/old road uniforms. I told you it looks better on good looking people.

6. Clay Buchholz. Even though it’s Spring Training, the 0.46 ERA is pretty good, I guess.

7. Donny Marshall. Hopefully you clicked on the link in the “Who Am I?” section. Because I wrote about that topic weeks ago. Is he trying to say no one reads this blog……?

8. Padma Lakshmi, host of Bravo’s Top Chef, and one hot Indian lady. No, not the Native American type. I’m more sensitive to political correctness, guys. She’s the slumdog type of Indian. And she is the sexiest food eater I’ve ever seen:

If you don’t agree, you’re mental. (p.s. real deal scar story here)

9. Anna Kournikova, don’t do it to me. I’ve been decrying the decision of Late Night to replace Conan O’Brien with Jimmy Fallon ever since the idea was introduced. And you’ve got to go and wear a nice little black dress on his program? Disappointing.

10. The Buffalo Bills. T.O. really is a team cancer. And he hasn’t even shown up for “voluntary” offseason workouts, yet. Because he won’t until they become “mandatory”. He can swear up and down that all he wants to do is win.  But I wouldn’t believe this guy if he said my house was on fire and we were standing directly across the street from my house and flames were shooting out of the windows — and then he provided a dictionary with the definition of “house fire” in big bold print.

So, how’d you do? 70% or higher is a passing grade. We don’t accept D’s around here.
