The Big Four

Why not? You add a 14-year NBA veteran with a ring and 4 All-Star appearances, and to me, that’s worthy of bumping the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to four. After injuries and a true lack of depth ended the Celtics title run last year in the second round, yesterday, late afternoon, brought new hope as the Celtics introduced their newest member, Rasheed Wallace.

Defense will ultimately win championships and Sheed, as they call him, can’t hurt that cause. He’s a force inside and out. The 6-foot-11 forward’s ability to rebound, play solid defense and knock down the triple enhances the C’s chances at Banner 18 next season.

His one knock – his temper. Sheed led the league with 19 technical fouls last season and has known to have rocky relationships with his head coaches over the years. But much like when Randy Moss came to the Patriots, under the same cloud so to speak, Wallace said yesterday he just wants to win.

He’s got three years to try and do it here and hopes he’ll quickly become a fan favorite.
